Conservative Party sparks racism fury as MP claims ‘all white men should have black slaves’

Conservative Party leaders are looking into a Conservative MP who allegedly said, “All white men should have a black man as a slave.”

In a 16-second recording, county councillor Andrew Edwards is also accused of calling black people “lower class” than white people.

The audio clip was identified as Edwards’ voice before referring himself to ombudsmen and leaving the party.

The Conservative Party stated it was looking into the allegations, but the Pembrokeshire County Councillor had not been suspended as of yet.

On the recording, the speaker says: “Nothing wrong with the skin colour at all.

“I think all white men should have a black man as a slave or black woman as a slave, you know.

“There’s nothing wrong with skin colour, it’s just that they’re lower class than us white people.”

The whereabouts of the 16-second clip is still unknown.

“I am aware of such serious allegations being made against me,” Edwards, who represents the Haverfordwest Prendergast ward, said.

“This is why I have self-referred to the Public Services Ombudsman for an independent evaluation.

“It is now in the hands of legal experts and the Ombudsman; commenting would be unfair to the process.”

The ombudsman’s office verified receipt of Edwards’ self-referral.
